Historical Fencing, also known as HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) or WMA (Western Martial Arts), is the study and practice of historical European unarmored blade combat. Similar to modern Olympic style fencing, Historical Fencing embraces a martial style closer to history, with weapons that reflect weight and dimensions similar to period pieces.
At Bladehaven, we train with longsword, rapier, sword and buckler, saber, smallsword, and knife. Additionally, we dedicate specific attention to grappling, and we incorporate periodic guest instruction from adjacent combat sports.
